Ellen Sofie Løkholm

Ellen Sofie specialises in non-contentious shipping matters with particular expertise in shipping finance and commercial shipping work. She has acted for a wide range of banks and international shipping companies in relation to the pre- and post-delivery financing of newbuildings, financing of second-hand tonnage and shipping fleets, restructuring of existing finance facilities, the acquisition, chartering and/or construction of most types of ships, including oil and chemical tankers, cruise ships, container ships, ferries and LNG ships.   She has also acted in relation to the sale and purchase of superyachts, as well as on elements of their construction.  

Her offshore expertise includes acting for energy companies and drilling contractors in respect of  the acquisition of semi-submersible drilling rigs, the sale, purchase and registration of jack-up rigs, the financing of offshore support ships, as well as the negotiation of drilling contracts.  She has gained considerable experience in the negotiation of long term leasing agreements of ships, contracts of affreightment, sale and purchase agreements, shipbuilding contracts and refund guarantees. 

She regularly handles ship and ship mortgage registration on most flags as well as bareboat registrations, and advises on a wide variety of ancillary commercial arrangements seen in the maritime industry, such as joint-venture agreements and share purchase agreements.
